I had some leftover crown daisy from making ssam (lettuce wraps) and decided to make namul muchim. I personally love its fragrant aroma, but my family isn’t a big fan. So, I usually enjoy it in ssam and then make this seasoned dish with any leftovers. Crown daisy is packed with nutrients and has a wonderful fragrance. Seasoning

  • Salt (to taste) 2/3 tsp
  • Flavor enhancer (optional) a pinch
  • Minced garlic a pinch
  • Chopped green onion
  • Sesame oil
  • Sesame seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Carefully trim and clean the crown daisy, removing any wilted or damaged leaves. Rinse thoroughly under running water to wash away any dirt or debris. Bring a pot of water to a rolling boil, add a pinch of salt, and blanch the crown daisy for just about 20-30 seconds. Be careful not to overcook, as crown daisy can become mushy quickly.

Step 2

Immediately after blanching, rinse the crown daisy under cold running water to cool it down. This helps preserve its vibrant green color and maintain a crisp texture. Gently gather the cooled crown daisy in your hands and squeeze out as much excess water as possible. Avoid squeezing too hard, which could crush the delicate leaves.

Step 3

Place the squeezed crown daisy in a mixing bowl.
