Aromatic Cilantro Salad: Super Simple Recipe
Boost Your Appetite with Fragrance! 5-Minute Super Simple Cilantro Salad Recipe
Introducing a cilantro salad brimming with fresh fragrance and a satisfying crunch. It’s incredibly easy to make with simple seasonings, perfect as a side dish for rice or to accompany grilled meats like pork belly. Even those who are hesitant about cilantro’s unique aroma will find this recipe deliciously enjoyable!
Main Ingredients- 80g fresh cilantro
- 2 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 4 Tbsp maesilcheong (Korean plum extract/syrup)
- 2 Tbsp sesame oil
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 80g of fresh cilantro. Wash it thoroughly under running water to remove any dirt or debris. Gently pat it dry, then cut it into bite-sized pieces, about 3-4cm in length. Cutting it to an appropriate size is important, as overly long pieces can be awkward to eat.
Step 2
Place all the prepared cilantro into a bowl. Using a deep bowl rather than a shallow one will help the dressing coat the cilantro evenly and allow the flavors to meld better.
Step 3
Now it’s time to mix in the seasonings. Add 2 tablespoons of gochujang (Korean chili paste), 4 tablespoons of maesilcheong (plum extract/syrup) for a touch of sweetness and tang, and 2 tablespoons of sesame oil for a nutty aroma. Briefly stir the seasonings together with a spoon, then gently toss the cilantro with your hands. This ensures the dressing evenly coats every strand of cilantro, resulting in a more flavorful salad. Be careful not to over-mix, as it can make the cilantro mushy!
