Ingredients- Washed Baby Wormwood (Naengi) 200g
- Soybean Paste (Doenjang) 3 Tbsp
- Water 1.5L
- Minced Garlic 1 Tbsp
- Chopped Green Onion 2 Tbsp
- Broth Cubes (or commercial broth) 4 pcs
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, let’s make the soybean paste broth, the foundation of this delicious stew. In a pot, add 1.5L of water, 4 broth cubes, and 3 tablespoons of soybean paste. Stir well with a spoon to dissolve the paste, then bring to a rolling boil until the soybean paste is fully incorporated. Your flavorful broth is now ready.
Step 2
Even if you’ve purchased pre-washed baby wormwood for convenience, it’s a good idea to rinse it several times in clean water to ensure no soil remains. It’s crucial to wash it thoroughly until no dirt comes out. After washing, drain the baby wormwood well in a colander.
Step 3
Add all the drained baby wormwood to the simmering soybean paste broth. Also, add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic and 2 tablespoons of chopped green onion. Start by boiling over high heat. Once the stew comes to a rolling boil, reduce the heat to medium. Continue to simmer for about 10 more minutes on medium heat until the baby wormwood is tender. After 10 minutes, turn off the heat, and your delicious Naengi Doenjang Guk will be complete.
Step 4
Your savory Naengi Doenjang Guk is ready, filled with the rich soybean paste broth and the fresh aroma of baby wormwood! It’s a warm, comforting soup that will make your mouth water just by looking at it.
