  • 2 bowls cooked rice
  • Nori (seaweed sheets)
  • Sliced cheese

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Let’s create some cute teddy bear faces with inari sushi! While I originally thought of making a Ryan-shaped one with square tofu, I found it a bit hard to come by. So, I decided on adorable teddy bears using readily available square tofu pouches. Gently open each tofu pouch and carefully fill it with the cooked rice. Then, press the pointed top edges of the tofu inward to shape a cute round face, resembling a teddy bear’s head. We’ll also make a few little friends who look like they’re wearing hats!

Step 2

Now, it’s time to decorate our teddy bear friends! The method is quite simple. Early this morning, I busily cut out shapes from cheese and trimmed the nori. (Though I don’t have photos of that part, haha!) For the teddy bear’s round eyes, cut small circles from nori and attach them. For the nose, use a straw or a small round cutter to punch out a shape from the sliced cheese. To create the cute ears, cut a sausage in half, shape it into a rounded form, and then secure it to the tofu pouch by piercing it with a strand of uncooked spaghetti. This will hold them firmly in place. For rosy cheeks, a tiny dab of ketchup works wonderfully, adding an extra touch of cuteness! Does that explanation make sense? ^^

Step 3

Next, let’s make a teddy bear friend wearing a little hat! Cut out nori shapes for the eyes and attach them. Then, simply add a small dot of ketchup for the mouth. It’s incredibly easy! While the process is simple, the result is absolutely adorable. Your child is going to love it!

Step 4

Finally, let’s make the candied sweet potatoes that my child requested! Since last night, they’ve been repeatedly asking, ‘Mom, you bought sweet potatoes, right? I need them for my snack box!’ Haha. I woke up early this morning to slice the sweet potatoes into bite-sized pieces, rinse off the excess starch, fry them until golden and crispy, and then simmer them in a sweet syrup until they were perfectly glazed. A batch of delicious candied sweet potatoes, just as my child loves them, is now ready! Hahahaha.
