Adorable Shark Whale Bread: A Fun Baking Project!
Make Cute Shark Whale Bread Instead of Bungeoppang for a Special Treat!
Introducing a recipe for the cutest shark whale bread ever, made easily with a direct heat mold and convenient mix! I made these at home as practice and they were a huge hit with my nieces and nephews! These shark whale breads are cuter than bungeoppang (fish-shaped pastry). They are crispy on the outside, moist on the inside, and not too sweet, making them an irresistible treat for all ages. Their adorable 7.5cm size adds to the fun of both seeing and eating them.
Bread Dough Ingredients- 1 bag Pancake Mix
- 1 Egg
- 90ml Milk
Filling (Red Bean Paste Substitute) Ingredients- 1/2 bag Custard Cream Mix
- 420-450ml Water (or Milk)
- Cooking Oil (or Melted Butter, for greasing the mold)
- 1/2 bag Custard Cream Mix
- 420-450ml Water (or Milk)
- Cooking Oil (or Melted Butter, for greasing the mold)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the pancake mix for the bread dough and the custard cream mix for the filling. Measure the amounts specified in the recipe accurately.
Step 2
In a bowl, add 1 bag of pancake mix, 1 fresh egg, and 90ml of cold milk. Whisk until a smooth batter forms with no lumps. Be careful not to overmix.
Step 3
Now, let’s make the sweet custard cream filling for the bread. In a deep bowl, combine 1/2 bag of custard cream mix with 420-450ml of cold water or milk. Whisk until smooth and free of lumps. The amount of liquid may affect the consistency, so adjust as needed to achieve your desired thickness.
Step 4
Transfer the prepared pancake batter and custard cream into separate piping bags. If you don’t have piping bags, you can use a plastic bag with a corner cut off. This will help you fill the molds neatly.
Step 5
Prepare your cute shark whale-shaped bread molds. Carefully brush the inside surfaces of the molds with melted butter or cooking oil. Apply a thin, even layer to prevent the bread from sticking and ensure easy release later.
Step 6
Pipe the pancake batter into the bottom of the mold, filling it to about 80% capacity. Filling it too full can cause the batter to overflow during baking, so aim for a moderate amount.
Step 7
Next, pipe your desired amount of custard cream over the pancake batter. Then, cover with a little more pancake batter to finish filling the mold. Bake over low heat, turning slowly. Be careful, as high heat can burn the outside before the inside is cooked.
Step 8
To ensure the bread is cooked through, you can briefly grill each side for a few seconds over low heat. This will make it wonderfully golden and crispy. Carefully open the mold, and you’ll find your beautifully baked shark whale bread!
Step 9
Once removed from the mold, the shark whale bread clearly shows the adorable facial features of the shark whale, adding to the visual appeal. Arrange the finished breads attractively on a plate.
Step 10
Your shark whale bread is ready! It boasts a ‘crispy outside, moist inside’ texture and a pleasantly mild sweetness. The small, 7.5cm size makes them perfect as a snack for children or as a charming dessert for home parties. Enjoy!
