- 150g beef (for curry)
- 1/3 carrot

- 500ml water (or refer to product instructions)
- 1.5 bowls cooked rice
- Small amount of seaweed (for garnish)
- 1 packet curry roux (approx. 100g, store-bought)
- 500ml water (or refer to product instructions)
- 1.5 bowls cooked rice
- Small amount of seaweed (for garnish)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the vegetables for the curry. Wash the potato, onion, and carrot thoroughly, then dice them into approximately 1.5 cm cubes. Avoid cutting them too small, as they might become mushy later.
Step 2
Heat a little cooking oil in a pan over medium heat, and add the beef. Stir-fry until the pink color disappears. The juices from the meat will add depth of flavor. Temporarily set aside the cooked beef.
Step 3
In the same pan, add the diced onion, potato, and carrot and stir-fry them together. Sautéing the vegetables until they become slightly translucent will enhance their sweetness. Add the cooked beef back to the pan and mix.
Step 4
Now, pour in the curry roux and 500ml of water, and mix well. (It’s best to follow the water quantity instructions on the product packaging.) Once it starts to boil, reduce the heat to low, stir occasionally, and simmer for about 10-15 minutes until the vegetables and meat are tender and the curry has thickened. Be careful to prevent it from sticking to the bottom.
Step 5
While the curry is simmering, let’s make the cute puppy-shaped rice! Pack the warm rice tightly into a puppy-shaped mold, or shape it by hand into a puppy face. Cut small pieces of seaweed to create the puppy’s eyes, nose, and ears for an even cuter look.
Step 6
Place the finished puppy-shaped rice in a nice bowl, and carefully pour the warm, simmered curry over it. To make it look even better, pour the curry around the rice rather than completely covering it. Your delicious puppy character curry is complete! Enjoy your meal with your child.
