Addictive ‘Magic Corn’ Homemade Recipe
You’ll understand why it’s called ‘Magic Corn’ once you taste it!
The corn I bought from the supermarket seemed a bit old and was hard to eat just by boiling. So, I decided to try the ‘Magic Corn’ method of grilling it. Oh wow, it turned out to be surprisingly delicious! This recipe transforms ordinary corn into an irresistible snack with a delightful sweet and savory glaze.
Corn and Sauce Ingredients- 2 ears of boiled corn
- 1 Tbsp mayonnaise
- 1 Tbsp butter
- 1 Tbsp sugar
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, rinse the 2 ears of boiled corn, pat them dry, and then carefully cut each ear in half with a knife into manageable pieces. This will help the sauce coat the corn evenly and make it easier to eat.
Step 2
In a pan heated over medium-low heat, add 1 tablespoon of butter and 1 tablespoon of mayonnaise. Once the butter starts to melt, stir gently with a spatula or whisk to combine the two ingredients. Continue stirring slowly, being careful not to burn the mixture, to create a smooth sauce base.
Step 3
Once the butter and mayonnaise are well combined and have a creamy consistency, add 1 tablespoon of sugar. Stir continuously until the sugar is dissolved, ensuring it doesn’t clump. Be mindful not to make the sauce too thick.
Step 4
Now, place the cut corn pieces into the pan with the prepared sauce. Rotate the corn as you cook, allowing the sauce to coat all sides evenly. You’ll see the corn turning golden brown and the sauce slightly caramelizing, releasing a wonderful aroma. Make sure to turn the corn frequently for even cooking.
Step 5
Once the corn is beautifully golden and grilled, carefully remove it from the pan and insert skewers into each piece. Your ‘Magic Corn’ is ready to be enjoyed as a delightful snack for kids or a perfect accompaniment to drinks! It’s best served warm.
