Bean Sprout Rice Ingredients- 2 cups (approx. 400g) Rice
- 130g Bean Sprouts (washed thoroughly)
- 2 cups Water (equal to rice volume)
- 100g Ground Beef
- 3 stalks Scallions (chopped for garnish)
Savory Soy Sauce Seasoning Ingredients- 6 Tbsp “Beomil” Soy Sauce (or regular soy sauce)
- 1/2 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1/2 Tbsp Red Pepper Flakes (Gochugaru)
- 6 Tbsp “Beomil” Soy Sauce (or regular soy sauce)
- 1/2 Tbsp Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1/2 Tbsp Red Pepper Flakes (Gochugaru)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, wash the rice thoroughly and soak it for about 30 minutes. Drain the soaked rice in a sieve. Place the drained rice into your electric rice cooker inner pot and add 2 cups of water, matching the volume of the rice. Gently place the washed bean sprouts on top of the rice and water. (Be careful not to let the bean sprouts get submerged in the water.) Select the “White Rice” cooking mode and start cooking. Once the rice is cooked, carefully fluff it with a spatula, being mindful not to mash the bean sprouts.
Step 2
Now, let’s prepare the special soy sauce seasoning that will elevate your bean sprout rice. In a small bowl, combine 6 Tbsp of soy sauce, 1/2 Tbsp of sugar, 1 Tbsp of sesame oil, 1 Tbsp of toasted sesame seeds, and 1/2 Tbsp of red pepper flakes (gochugaru). Mix everything together well until the sugar is dissolved. This delicious seasoning is now ready!
Step 3
Prepare the stir-fried ground beef topping. In a separate bowl, marinate the 100g of ground beef with a little soy sauce, minced garlic, sesame oil, and corn syrup (or sugar). Mix well. Heat a pan over high heat and quickly stir-fry the marinated beef until it’s cooked through and crumbly. This will create a flavorful topping for your rice.
Step 4
Once your bean sprout rice is ready, generously top it with the delicious stir-fried ground beef. Serve with the prepared soy sauce seasoning on the side. Spoon the desired amount of seasoning over the rice and beef, then mix it all together to enjoy. Experience the wonderful harmony of crisp bean sprouts, savory beef, and the spicy-sweet soy sauce dressing in this amazing bean sprout rice!
