Ingredients

  • 2kg Passion Fruit Puree
  • 2kg Granulated Sugar (or Brown Sugar)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

To make this passion fruit syrup, I opted for 2kg of convenient passion fruit puree instead of fresh fruit. Since it arrives frozen, it’s important to place it in the refrigerator for about a day to thaw completely. This method helps preserve the fruit’s fresh taste and aroma.

Step 1

Step 2

The next day, once the passion fruit puree has fully thawed, transfer it into a clean mixing bowl. Using puree makes the process incredibly simple as there’s no need for extra fruit preparation.

Step 2

Step 3

Now it’s time to add the sugar. Use an equal weight of sugar to the puree, so 2kg of sugar for 2kg of passion fruit puree. You can slightly adjust the sugar amount based on your preference, but an equal ratio is recommended for optimal preservation and balanced sweetness.

Step 3

Step 4

Stir the puree and sugar together until well combined. Continue stirring gently until the sugar has completely dissolved. It might seem like it’s taking a while for the sugar to dissolve, so feel free to let it sit for a bit between stirs. Once the sugar is fully dissolved, carefully transfer the mixture into a sterilized glass jar.

Step 4

Step 5

See how the passion fruit and sugar have beautifully merged into a syrupy consistency? Now, carefully pour this mixture into a sterilized glass jar. Your delicious passion fruit syrup is almost ready!

Step 5

Step 6

After filling the jar, don’t immediately refrigerate the passion fruit syrup. Let it sit at room temperature for about a day to allow fermentation to begin. Afterward, store it in the refrigerator. It’s best to let it mature for 3-4 days for the flavors to deepen, resulting in a wonderfully sweet and tangy syrup. Enjoy it by mixing it with cool water or sparkling water for a refreshing passion fruit ade!
