I tried making Ryu Soo-young’s famous Peanut Mayo Jam from the TV show ‘Byeon Stokrang’! This recipe is incredibly simple and results in a delicious, homemade spread perfect for any occasion. Enjoy this delightful peanut butter creation!
Ingredients- 3 Tbsp creamy peanut butter
- 100ml milk
- 4 Tbsp granulated sugar
- 3 Tbsp mayonnaise
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
1. First, pour 100ml of milk into a pre-heated saucepan or skillet over medium heat. Keep the heat at a steady medium.
Step 2
2. Once the milk is warm, add 4 tablespoons of granulated sugar. Stir continuously with a wooden spoon or whisk until the sugar is completely dissolved and well incorporated into the milk. Ensure no sugar granules remain.
Step 3
3. When the sugar has fully dissolved and the mixture is smooth, add 3 tablespoons of peanut butter. (I used a peanut butter with some small peanut pieces for texture, but a smooth variety works wonderfully too.) Continue to stir until the peanut butter is fully combined with the milk, forming a smooth consistency. This should take about 2-3 minutes of consistent stirring.
Step 4
4. Once the peanut butter and milk are well blended into a smooth sauce, immediately turn off the heat. Remove the pan from the heat and let it cool slightly. (It’s important to let it cool down before adding mayonnaise to prevent separation.) Once it has cooled down a bit, gently stir in 3 tablespoons of mayonnaise until it is evenly incorporated into the peanut jam base. Mix thoroughly until smooth and creamy.
Step 5
5. Once all ingredients are smoothly and uniformly combined, transfer the finished Peanut Mayo Jam into a clean glass jar. Stored in the refrigerator, it can stay fresh for about 1-2 weeks. It’s perfect for spreading on toast, crackers, or waffles, or even for adding to baked goods like cookies and cakes!
