Essential Ingredients

  • 200g Dark Couverture Chocolate
  • 200g Dark Coating Chocolate
  • 200g White Couverture Chocolate
  • 200g White Coating Chocolate
  • 100g Dried Fruits (e.g., cranberries, apricots)
  • Nuts (e.g., almonds, walnuts, pistachios) as needed

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare the dark couverture and dark coating chocolates. Combine them in a 1:1 ratio (e.g., 200g of each). Place the mixed chocolates in a heatproof bowl set over simmering water (double boiler method). Gently melt the chocolates, stirring constantly until smooth and fully liquid. Ensure the chocolate does not come into direct contact with the water. Achieving a silky smooth texture is key.

Step 2

Next, prepare the white couverture and white coating chocolates using the same method. Mix them in a 1:1 ratio and then gently melt them over a double boiler until smooth. White chocolate can be a bit more delicate, so handle it with care. The goal is to have a lump-free, creamy consistency.

Step 2

Step 3

Pour the melted dark chocolate thinly and evenly into your bark chocolate mold (or onto a baking sheet lined with parchment paper). Artfully arrange the dried fruits and nuts over the chocolate. You can add more chocolate to secure them or include other toppings as you like. Once the dark chocolate begins to set slightly, drizzle the melted white chocolate over it in a zigzag pattern or create decorative swirls. After all the decorating is done, carefully place the mold (or baking sheet) into the refrigerator and let it chill for at least 1 hour, or until completely firm. Once fully set, gently break or cut the bark into pieces. Your beautiful handmade bark chocolate is ready to enjoy!
