Bean Sprout Rice Ingredients- 300g bean sprouts
- 3 cups rice
- Water (2-3 Tbsp less than usual)
- 1 bunch scallions (approx. 30g)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Let’s make the incredibly delicious bean sprout bibimbap, perfect for mixing and eating, using your electric rice cooker! It’s a quick and easy way to create a satisfying meal.
Step 2
First, we’ll prepare the rice, which is the base for the bean sprout rice. Wash 3 cups of rice thoroughly. It’s recommended to use about 2-3 tablespoons less water than you normally would for cooking rice. This is because the bean sprouts need a little space to steam. After washing the rice and adjusting the water, place the 300g of thoroughly washed bean sprouts evenly on top. Now, simply press the ‘cook’ button on your rice cooker, and your delicious bean sprout rice will be ready!
Step 3
While the bean sprout rice is cooking, let’s make the flavorful scallion soy sauce dressing. First, wash the scallions, trim the root ends, and finely chop them. In a bowl, combine the chopped scallions with 1/2 cup soy sauce (100ml), 1/2 cup water (100ml), 1 Tbsp sesame oil (15ml), 1 Tbsp gochugaru, 2 tsp sugar, and if you like a little heat, add the finely chopped Korean green chili pepper. Finally, add a pinch of toasted sesame seeds and mix everything well until the dressing is evenly combined. Your delicious dressing is now ready.
Step 4
Thanks to the electric rice cooker, your delicious bean sprout rice is ready in no time! The rice grains are perfectly cooked, and the bean sprouts have infused the rice with their natural flavors, creating a wonderful base.
Step 5
Transfer the finished bean sprout rice to a nice serving bowl. Generously spoon the homemade scallion soy sauce dressing over the top. You can also add a fried egg or some shredded seaweed for extra flavor if you like. Now, all that’s left is to mix it all together with your chopsticks and enjoy!
