Golden Crispy Wedges: An Easy Recipe for Everyone
Simple Dorm Room Cooking
Do you have an abundance of potatoes? Do you absolutely love potatoes? Then this simple dorm room recipe is for you! I made these easy potato wedges.
Ingredients- Potatoes (2-3 medium-sized)
- Salt, to taste
- Black pepper, to taste
- Dried parsley, to taste (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly wash the potatoes under running water. Leaving the skin on adds great texture and flavor. Once clean, cut the potatoes into bite-sized wedges, like half-moons or classic wedges. Aim for about 1.5 cm thickness so they don’t break apart too easily.
Step 2
To remove excess starch and ensure maximum crispiness, soak the cut potatoes in cold water for about 10 to 15 minutes. This step is key to achieving that delightful crunch when baked or fried.
Step 3
Drain the soaked potatoes thoroughly using a colander. For best results, pat them dry with a kitchen towel. Once dry, sprinkle generously with salt, black pepper, and dried parsley if you’re using it. Gently toss everything together with your hands to ensure the seasonings coat every piece evenly.
Step 4
Line a baking sheet with parchment paper and spread the seasoned potato wedges in a single layer, making sure they don’t overlap. Bake in a preheated oven at 200°C (400°F) for 20 to 30 minutes. Flipping them halfway through will help them brown evenly. Adjust the baking time based on your oven’s performance.
Step 5
Once perfectly golden and crispy, transfer the potato wedges to a serving plate. They make a fantastic snack or side dish! Serve with ketchup or your favorite dipping sauce for an extra burst of flavor.
Step 6
These freshly baked wedges are incredibly crispy on the outside and wonderfully moist on the inside. Because they’re seasoned before baking, they have a perfectly savory taste with a lovely hint of parsley, making them absolutely irresistible! Thank you! ♥
