Super Simple Soy Sauce Egg Rice
Microwave Fried Egg / Soy Sauce Egg Rice
I made delicious soy sauce egg rice by making a fried egg in the microwave and adding seasoned soy sauce. It’s a simple solo meal and a one-bowl dish, so it’s not bothersome and I like it.

Soy Sauce Egg Rice Ingredients- 1 bowl of Rice
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce or Seasoned Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- A sprinkle of Sesame Seeds
- 1 bowl of Rice
- 2 Eggs
- 1 Tbsp Soy Sauce or Seasoned Soy Sauce
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- A sprinkle of Sesame Seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Lightly and evenly coat a microwave-safe dish or bowl with 1 tablespoon of oil. This prevents the egg from sticking to the dish later.
Step 2
Crack one egg into the prepared dish. To prevent the yolk from bursting and to ensure an even cook, gently pierce the yolk with a fork. This helps maintain a nice shape for your fried egg.
Step 3
Sprinkle a pinch of salt and a dash of pepper over the egg. This enhances the flavor of the egg.
Step 4
Microwave the egg. For a soft-boiled yolk, cook for about 40-45 seconds. For a fully cooked yolk, microwave for 1 minute or longer. Cooking times can vary depending on your microwave’s wattage, so it’s best to check periodically and adjust as needed to achieve your desired doneness.
Step 5
Your microwave fried egg is now ready! It should be beautifully cooked, tender, and flavorful. The slightly runny yolk is perfect for mixing into rice.
Step 6
Place one bowl of warm rice into a serving bowl. Carefully place the microwave-fried egg on top. Drizzle with 1 tablespoon of soy sauce (or seasoned soy sauce) and 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. Finish with a sprinkle of sesame seeds for a wonderfully savory and nutty flavor. This simple yet satisfying soy sauce egg rice is complete!
Step 7
See how easy that is? With just a microwaveable fried egg, you can quickly prepare a satisfying meal without needing many side dishes. It’s a perfect option for busy mornings, quick dinners, or when you’re craving something simple and delicious.
