Main Ingredients- 500g Duck Slices (for grilling)
- 1 Potato (medium size)
- 1 Onion (large size)
- 5 Perilla Leaves
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
The ‘Chorok Maeul’ antibiotic-free duck slices we’re using today are meant for grilling. They are delicious on their own, but stir-frying them with vegetables makes for an even richer flavor. It’s best to thaw them beforehand.
Step 2
Let’s prepare the vegetables. Wash and get ready 1 medium potato and 1 large onion. You can peel the potato or wash it thoroughly and use it with the skin on.
Step 3
First, place the thawed duck slices into a heated pan and begin to stir-fry. The duck will release its own fat, so you don’t need to add extra oil. Stir-fry until the duck meat is lightly cooked.
Step 4
Once the duck is partially cooked, add the sliced potatoes and continue stir-frying. Potatoes take a bit longer to cook, so adding them first ensures they cook evenly. Stir-fry them with the duck fat for flavor.
Step 5
When the potatoes are about halfway cooked, add the large sliced onion and stir-fry together. Cook until the onion becomes translucent and tender, which will bring out its natural sweetness.
Step 6
Now it’s time for seasoning. Add 1/2 teaspoon of salt and a pinch of black pepper, then mix well. The duck itself has a rich flavor, so you don’t need much seasoning. If it tastes bland, you can add a little more salt to your preference.
Step 7
Finally, prepare the fresh perilla leaves. Wash them clean and slice them thinly into strips. Add the perilla leaves towards the end of cooking, stir-frying briefly to preserve their fragrant aroma. Mix gently.
Step 8
Optionally, sprinkle with black and white sesame seeds for garnish. This adds a nice nutty flavor and makes the dish look more appetizing. Your delicious and savory stir-fried duck with vegetables is ready!
Step 9
Continue to stir-fry until the potatoes are tender when pierced with a fork. All the ingredients will come together to create a savory and delicious duck stir-fry. Even picky eaters will enjoy this.
Step 10
We had a wonderful dinner with the kids enjoying this simply made stir-fried duck and vegetables. No strong seasoning is needed; the natural savoriness of the duck and the freshness of the vegetables are enough to make it delicious. It’s also great served over rice like a donburi!
