Ingredients for Nutritious Chestnut “Tarak-juk”- 20 cooked or roasted chestnuts (prepare them with seeds removed for a smoother texture)
- 2 cups fresh milk (approx. 400ml)
- 2 tablespoons honey (adjust to taste)
- 4 tablespoons fine rice flour (sifting it beforehand will help achieve a smoother consistency)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the 20 chestnuts, the key ingredient for this smooth and sweet “Tarak-juk”. You can use store-bought roasted chestnuts or, if using cooked ones, ensure they are peeled and their seeds are thoroughly removed. Soft chestnuts will blend more easily.
Step 2
Place the prepared 20 chestnuts and 2 cups of fresh milk into a blender. Now, blend the chestnuts and milk until they are completely combined and have a smooth, creamy consistency. It’s crucial to achieve a lump-free, velvety texture.
Step 3
Pour the blended chestnut-milk mixture into a pot preheated over medium heat. Add the 4 tablespoons of fine rice flour. Stir well with a whisk or spatula to prevent lumps as you begin to cook. Start by simmering over medium heat to allow the rice flour to cook gradually.
Step 4
Once the rice flour is well incorporated, without any lumps, and the porridge begins to thicken slightly, reduce the heat to low. It’s very important to continuously stir to prevent sticking to the bottom of the pot. “Tarak-juk” can easily scorch, so stir with care.
Step 5
