  • 1 medium Onion

Seasoning Ingredients

  • Pinch of salt
  • Pinch of pepper
  • 1 tsp Plum extract (or syrup)
  • 1 Tbsp Oyster sauce
  • 1 tsp Sesame oil

Cooking Instructions

Gently tear the oyster mushrooms into bite-sized pieces, removing any tough ends. Avoid tearing them too small, as this can diminish their texture. Prepare them for cooking.

Peel and thinly slice the onion into strips (julienne). The thickness of the slices can be adjusted to your preference.

Bring a pot of water to a boil. Once boiling, add the torn oyster mushrooms and a pinch of salt. Blanch them for just 30 seconds to 1 minute. Overcooking can make the mushrooms mushy and reduce their flavor.

Immediately rinse the blanched mushrooms under cold water to cool them down. Gently squeeze out as much excess water as possible. Properly draining the mushrooms is crucial to prevent a watery stir-fry and ensure a better flavor.

Heat 1-2 tablespoons of cooking oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add the sliced onions and stir-fry until they become translucent and slightly sweet-smelling. Cook them thoroughly.
