[Baby Food] Making Soft Beef and Potato Stir-fry, Perfect for Baby Meals
This recipe features beef and potato stir-fry made by first softening the potatoes in the microwave before pan-frying. This method ensures the potatoes become fluffy and melt-in-your-mouth tender. The combination of potatoes and beef creates a delicious and nutritious side dish for your little one.
Main Ingredients- 1 potato (medium size)
- 40g beef (ground or thinly sliced)
Seasoning- 0.5 Tbsp low-sodium baby soy sauce
- 0.5 Tbsp sesame oil
- A little brown rice oil (or other vegetable oil)
- 0.5 Tbsp low-sodium baby soy sauce
- 0.5 Tbsp sesame oil
- A little brown rice oil (or other vegetable oil)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Thoroughly wash and peel the potato. Cut it into julienne strips of a size and thickness suitable for your baby. Soak the julienned potatoes in water for about 10 minutes to remove excess starch. This prevents them from sticking together when stir-fried and ensures a cleaner texture.
Step 2
In a bowl, combine the beef with 0.5 Tbsp of low-sodium baby soy sauce and 0.5 Tbsp of sesame oil. Gently mix and let it marinate for a short while. This marination process helps to remove any gamey odors from the beef and adds a rich umami flavor.
Step 3
Drain the potatoes thoroughly after soaking them. Place them in a microwave-safe dish and heat for 3 minutes. This step ensures the potatoes are tender on the inside, making them less likely to break apart during stir-frying and yielding a perfectly cooked texture.
Step 4
Heat a pan over medium-low heat and add a little brown rice oil. Add the microwaved potatoes and stir-fry. Stir occasionally to prevent burning, cooking until the edges are lightly golden.
Step 5
Once the potatoes are partially cooked, push them to one side of the pan. Add the marinated beef to the empty space and stir-fry. Break up the beef as it cooks to ensure even cooking and prevent clumps.
Step 6
When the beef is fully cooked, combine it with the potatoes and stir-fry together for another 1-2 minutes, mixing well. Finish by drizzling a little sesame oil for added aroma and then turn off the heat. If needed, adjust the seasoning with a touch more baby soy sauce or a tiny pinch of salt.
