Step 1
First, select fresh strawberries and wash them thoroughly. Gently rinse under running water, then carefully trim off the top part, including the green stem, with a knife. If the strawberries are very large, you can cut them in half.

Next, prepare the store-bought mochi. Place the mochi on a cutting board and use scissors to cut it. Make a cut about two-thirds of the way through the mochi, without cutting all the way to the end. This creates an opening to insert the strawberry.
Step 3
Now, carefully insert the prepared strawberry into the slit you made in the mochi. Gently push the strawberry inside so it fits snugly. If the strawberry is larger than the opening, you can gently widen the cut in the mochi.
Step 4
After inserting the strawberry, gently press the top part of the mochi with your fingers to secure the strawberry. The mochi should naturally close around the fruit. Finally, cut the finished strawberry mochi in half for easy eating. Enjoy the delightful combination of chewy mochi and refreshing strawberries!
