Step 1
First, trim the tail end and wing tips of the chicken with kitchen scissors. This helps prevent oil splattering during cooking and results in a neater presentation.

Rinse the prepared chicken thoroughly and pat it completely dry with paper towels. Excess moisture can prevent the skin from becoming crispy. Place the dried chicken breast-side down in the air fryer basket.
