Ingredients- 1 Steamed Sweet Potato (medium size)
- Olive oil, for brushing
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare your steamed sweet potato. It’s easier to peel when it’s still warm. Slice the sweet potato into round, flat pieces about 0.5cm to 1cm thick. Be careful not to slice them too thinly, as they might break apart.
Step 2
Place the sliced sweet potato pieces on a cutting board or a plate. Gently press each slice down with a spatula or the back of a flat bowl to flatten them slightly. Then, brush both sides of the sweet potato slices generously with olive oil using a pastry brush. The olive oil adds flavor and helps them crisp up beautifully.
Step 3
Preheat your air fryer to 180°C (350°F). Lining the air fryer basket with parchment paper will make cleanup much easier. Arrange the prepared sweet potato slices in the air fryer basket and cook for the first round at 180°C for 12 minutes. The surfaces should start to turn lightly golden.
Step 4
After 12 minutes, carefully flip the sweet potato slices over. After flipping, continue to cook at 180°C for another 5 minutes for the second round. The cooking time may vary depending on your air fryer model and the thickness of the sweet potato, so keep an eye on them and adjust the time as needed to reach your desired crispiness.
Step 5
Once cooked, remove the sweet potato bites from the air fryer and let them cool slightly. While delicious when warm, letting them cool a bit enhances their wonderfully chewy texture and deep sweetness. Your perfectly chewy and sweet sweet potato finger food snack is now ready! They are fantastic for kids’ snacks or a delightful adult dessert.
