- 1 Tbsp Gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1 Tbsp Tomato ketchup
- 1/2 Tbsp Sweet chili sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp Soy sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp Plum extract
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, mix all the tteokbokki sauce ingredients together to create a flavorful sauce. Then, add the garaetteok to the prepared sauce and toss well to coat evenly. Let it marinate for a short while to allow the flavors to meld into the rice cakes.
Step 2
Prepare the toppings by slicing the fish cakes, onion, bell peppers, and red chili peppers into bite-sized pieces. Feel free to use any leftover vegetables you have in your refrigerator. Using a variety of colorful vegetables will make your pizza look even more appealing.
Step 3
Spread the tomato sauce evenly over the tortilla. If you don’t have tomato sauce, you can use tomato ketchup or steak sauce. Spreading the sauce thinly will help maintain a good balance of flavors throughout the pizza.
Step 4
Arrange the sauce-coated garaetteok attractively on top of the sauced tortilla. Be mindful not to overload the tortilla with too much rice cake, as it can become soggy or tear. Aim for an even layer.
Step 5
Layer the prepared fish cakes and colorful sliced vegetables over the garaetteok. Distributing the vegetables evenly will not only enhance the visual appeal but also add delightful texture to each bite.
Step 6
Now, add the star of the pizza – a generous amount of mozzarella cheese! Plenty of cheese ensures that satisfying, gooey pull when you take a slice.
Step 7
Bake in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for about 10 to 15 minutes, or until the cheese is melted and golden brown. Adjust the baking time based on your oven’s specifications. This Tteokbokki Pizza is best enjoyed hot and fresh!
