Ingredients

  • 1 packet Shin Ramyun (use noodles and soup powder)
  • 1/2 onion
  • 5 cloves garlic
  • 7 pieces cocktail shrimp
  • 300ml milk
  • 2 slices processed cheese
  • 1 Tbsp butter
  • A little olive oil
  • A pinch of black pepper
  • A pinch of parsley flakes

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Before you begin cooking, prepare all your ingredients. Thinly slice the onion and mince or thinly slice the garlic for easier cooking.

Step 1

Step 2

Finely slice half an onion. This will help it soften and meld beautifully into the sauce.

Step 2

Step 3

Peel and thinly slice 5 cloves of garlic. This will release a rich aroma as it sautés.

Step 3

Step 4

Heat a little olive oil in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced garlic and sauté until fragrant and lightly golden. Be careful not to burn it. Once the garlic is aromatic, add the sliced onions and cook until they become translucent.

Step 4

Step 5

Add the 7 cocktail shrimp to the pan. Sprinkle with a pinch of black pepper and stir-fry until the shrimp turn pink and are cooked through.

Step 5

Step 6

Pour in 300ml of milk. Add 1 tablespoon of butter. Stir as the butter melts and the milk begins to warm. Reduce the heat slightly if the milk starts to boil vigorously.

Step 6

Step 7

Add about 2/3 of the Shin Ramyun soup powder. You can adjust the amount of seasoning to your taste. I find 2/3 is just right for me! Stir well to combine, ensuring the powder dissolves smoothly into the sauce.

Step 7

Step 8

Finally, add 2 slices of processed cheese to the sauce. Stir gently as the cheese melts, creating a wonderfully rich and creamy texture. Continue stirring until the cheese is fully incorporated and the sauce is smooth.

Step 8

Step 9

While the sauce is simmering, bring a separate pot of water to a boil. Add the Shin Ramyun noodles and cook according to package directions, but slightly undercook them (al dente). Drain them well.

Step 9

Step 10

Add the drained noodles directly into the Toowoomba sauce. Stir and cook together for about 1-2 minutes, allowing the noodles to absorb the delicious sauce. This step is key to ensuring every strand is coated in flavor.

Step 10

Step 11

Transfer the creamy Toowoomba pasta to a serving plate. Sprinkle with a pinch of parsley flakes for a touch of color and freshness. Enjoy your homemade Toowoomba pasta!
