Lettuce is in season and perfectly fresh right now! I made a delicious ‘geotjeori’ (Korean fresh kimchi-style salad) using some lettuce I received from a friend. Adding a generous spoonful of store-bought garlic flakes gave it a wonderful garlic aroma and a delightful crunchy texture. This salad is incredibly satisfying!
Vegetables- 1 bunch fresh lettuce (approx. 50-70g)
Aromatics & Topping- 1 Tbsp store-bought garlic flakes (generous amount)
- 1 Tbsp store-bought garlic flakes (generous amount)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Gently wash the fresh lettuce multiple times under running water. After washing, lightly pat the lettuce with your hands to remove as much excess water as possible. Excess water can dilute the dressing, so ensure it’s well-drained.

In a large bowl, place the prepared lettuce. Add 1 tablespoon of perilla oil for a nutty and rich flavor.

Add 1 tablespoon of gochugaru (red chili flakes) for that characteristic mild spiciness of geotjeori. You can adjust this amount to your preference.
