Crispy Cinnamon Bread Rusks
Easy Homemade Cinnamon Rusks from Bread Slices
A super simple recipe for making delightful cinnamon rusks using bread slices. These crispy, fragrant treats are perfect as a quick snack or a lovely accompaniment to your coffee.
Ingredients- 4 slices of bread (slightly stale bread works well too)
- 30g butter, melted (microwave for about 30 seconds)
- 2 Tbsp brown sugar
- 1/2 tsp ground cinnamon
- A pinch of salt (optional, enhances sweetness)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, cut the bread slices into 4 equal pieces each (you can cut them smaller if you prefer). Next, melt the butter by microwaving it for about 30 seconds until fully liquid. Brush the melted butter evenly over one side of the bread pieces, or briefly dip each bread piece into the melted butter and let excess drip off. Be careful as the butter might be hot.
Step 2
In a small bowl, combine the brown sugar and ground cinnamon, mixing them well. Sprinkle this brown sugar and cinnamon mixture generously over the buttered bread slices. Gently press down to help the sugar adhere to the bread. If you love cinnamon, feel free to increase the amount slightly for a more intense flavor.
Step 3
Preheat your convection oven to 180°C (350°F). Arrange the prepared bread rusks on a baking sheet and bake for approximately 15 minutes, or until they are golden brown and crispy. Keep an eye on them during baking to prevent burning. For a more pronounced sweet flavor, you can mix in a tiny pinch of salt with the sugar and cinnamon mixture before baking. Baking time and temperature may vary depending on your oven, so adjust as needed.
