Siragibap Ingredients- 300g short-grain or glutinous rice (approx. 1.5 cups)
- 200g boiled dried radish greens (siratgi)
- 1/2 Tbsp Doenjang (Korean soybean paste)
- 2 Tbsp Perilla oil (deulgireum)
Irresistible Seasoning Sauce Ingredients- 2 Tbsp Soy sauce (ganjang)
- 1 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 2 Tbsp Perilla oil (deulgireum)
- 2 Tbsp Fish sauce (aekjeot)
- 2 Tbsp Toasted sesame seeds (kkae)
- 2 Tbsp Minced scallions (daepa)
- 2 Tbsp Soy sauce (ganjang)
- 1 Tbsp Gochugaru (Korean chili flakes)
- 2 Tbsp Perilla oil (deulgireum)
- 2 Tbsp Fish sauce (aekjeot)
- 2 Tbsp Toasted sesame seeds (kkae)
- 2 Tbsp Minced scallions (daepa)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, thoroughly squeeze out the water from the boiled dried radish greens. Then, chop them into bite-sized pieces, about 2-3 cm in length. Place the chopped siratgi in a generous bowl. Add 1/2 tablespoon of doenjang and 2 tablespoons of perilla oil. Gently mix everything together with your hands; this will help bring out the savory flavor of the radish greens.
Step 2
Rinse the rice and drain it well in a sieve. Place the rice in the inner pot of your rice cooker. Then, arrange the seasoned radish greens on top of the rice. If the water level seems low compared to how you usually cook rice, you can add a little more water.
Step 3
Now, press the ‘cook’ button on your rice cooker to prepare the delicious siragibap. Once the cooking cycle is complete, don’t open the lid immediately. Let it steam for 5-10 minutes. After steaming, use a rice paddle to gently mix the rice and radish greens together, ensuring they are well combined without mashing the rice grains.
Step 4
Meanwhile, let’s make the special seasoning sauce. In a small bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 1 tablespoon of gochugaru, 2 tablespoons of perilla oil, 2 tablespoons of fish sauce, 2 tablespoons of toasted sesame seeds, and 2 tablespoons of finely minced scallions. Mix all the ingredients thoroughly. Serve this delicious seasoning sauce generously over the siragibap and mix well before enjoying. For an extra kick, you can add some finely chopped chili peppers to the sauce.
