Today, I’m taking out some king oyster mushrooms to create a delicious side dish by seasoning and pan-frying them with butter. The chewy texture of the mushrooms combined with the rich butter aroma makes this a delightful dish, perfect as a side for rice or even as a snack.   • 1/2 Tbsp Oligosaccharide (or Corn Syrup)
  • 1/2 Tbsp Sesame Oil
  • 1 Tbsp Chopped Green Onion
  • 1/2 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 3 Tbsp Water

Cooking Instructions

First, wash the king oyster mushrooms thoroughly. Then, slice them into pieces that are easy to eat or arrange on a plate. A thickness of about 1cm to 1.5cm is ideal for the best texture. Feel free to slice them thicker if you prefer a chewier bite.

In a small bowl, combine 1 Tbsp chopped green onion, 1/2 Tbsp minced garlic, and 1 Tbsp soy sauce to form the base of your seasoning. Preparing the sauce in advance will make the cooking process much smoother.

Next, add 1 Tbsp mirin (this helps remove any gamey odor and adds a nice sheen!), 1/2 Tbsp oligosaccharide (for a subtle sweetness), 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil (for a nutty aroma), and 3 Tbsp water.
