Crispy & Savory Shrimp Cracker Toast
A delightful snack toast made with crunchy shrimp crackers
This is a simple toast made with shrimp-flavored crackers, featuring a wonderfully crispy texture and a rich, savory taste. Let me introduce you to this easy toast dressed in a crunchy cracker coating!
Ingredients- 1 bag shrimp-flavored crackers (approx. 70-80g)
- 2 slices of bread
- 2 eggs
- 2 Tbsp margarine (or butter)
- 20g red bell pepper
- Pinch of cinnamon powder (optional)
- Pinch of parsley flakes (optional)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare all the ingredients for the recipe. For easier handling, you can cut the bread slices into smaller pieces, like quarters. Wash the red bell pepper, remove the seeds, and finely mince it.
Step 2
Place the shrimp-flavored crackers into a zip-top bag and seal it. Then, use your hands or a rolling pin to crush the crackers. The key to a great texture is to avoid crushing them into a fine powder.
Step 3
When crushing the crackers, aim for a size similar to crushed cereal, meaning some small chunks should remain. This will ensure a wonderfully crunchy coating when the toast is cooked.
Step 4
While red bell pepper is optional, it adds a vibrant splash of color and visual appeal to the toast. Mince it very finely. If you like, you can also add a pinch of cinnamon powder or parsley flakes for extra flavor.
Step 5
In a wide bowl, crack the 2 eggs and whisk them thoroughly with a fork or whisk until well beaten. Add the finely minced red bell pepper to the beaten eggs and mix well, allowing the color to distribute evenly.
Step 6
Dip each slice of bread into the egg mixture, ensuring both sides are well coated. Next, generously coat the egg-dipped bread with the crushed crackers, pressing gently to help them adhere. Melt the margarine or butter in a heated pan over medium-low heat. Place the cracker-coated bread into the pan and cook until golden brown and crispy on both sides, flipping as needed. Your delicious cracker toast is now complete!
