Ingredients

  • 300g Roasted Peanuts
  • 80g Macadamia Nuts
  • 40g Walnuts
  • 4 Tbsp Savory Soy Sauce (Mat-ganjang)
  • 4 Tbsp Corn Syrup (Jocheong) (or use rice syrup, corn syrup, or oligodang)
  • 100ml Water
  • 1 Tbsp Black Sesame Seeds

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare your three types of nuts: roasted peanuts, macadamia nuts, and walnuts. These will be the stars of our dish. Don’t forget the black sesame seeds, which will add a final touch of flavor and visual appeal.

Step 1

Step 2

In a pan heated over medium-high heat, add the savory soy sauce (4 Tbsp) and water (100ml). Bring this mixture to a rolling boil. This creates the flavorful base for our glaze.

Step 2

Step 3

Once the soy sauce mixture is boiling, stir in the corn syrup (4 Tbsp). If you don’t have jocheong (rice syrup), feel free to substitute with other liquid sweeteners like regular corn syrup or oligodang. Continue to simmer and stir until the syrup thickens slightly.

Step 3

Step 4

When the sauce has thickened to your liking, add all the prepared nuts to the pan. Reduce the heat to low. Stir continuously to coat the nuts evenly with the glaze and to prevent them from sticking or burning. Gentle stirring is key here.

Step 4

Step 5

Finally, sprinkle in the black sesame seeds (1 Tbsp) and mix well. Cook for another minute until the nuts are coated and the glaze has a thick, almost sticky consistency. Taste and adjust seasoning if needed: if it’s too salty, add a little more water and simmer; if it’s not sweet enough, add a touch more sugar and mix well.

Step 5

Step 6

Your delicious, nutrient-packed Glazed Nuts are now ready! They are wonderful as a side dish with rice, making meals more exciting. They also make a fantastic, easy snack to enjoy with a cold beer, offering that perfect sweet and savory balance. These nuts are not only good for your health but also a great source of protein. Store them in the refrigerator and enjoy them whenever you like – they taste even better when chilled! A truly speedy and satisfying snack.
