Easy Mac-Ban-Seok Style Baked Eggs using Your Rice Cooker
Effortlessly make chewy and delicious mac-ban-seok style baked eggs at home with just your rice cooker’s steam function, no special equipment needed. They’re perfect for a snack or a quick breakfast substitute.
Main Ingredients- Fresh eggs
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, place 2-3 layers of kitchen towels at the bottom of your rice cooker’s inner pot. This helps prevent the eggs from rolling and protects the pot’s surface. Then, add water until it reaches about one-third of the height of the eggs. If there’s too much water, the eggs might not cook properly.
Step 2
Now, select and activate your rice cooker’s ‘Steam’ or ‘Multi-steam’ function. If your rice cooker model has a specific ‘Baked Egg’ or ‘Steamed Egg’ course, you can use that as well. Generally, setting the steam function for 40 minutes to 1 hour is appropriate. Adjust the time based on the number of eggs and your rice cooker’s performance.
Step 3
Once cooking is complete, wait a moment for the steam inside the rice cooker to dissipate. Then, carefully remove the eggs. You’ll have perfectly baked eggs with a firm yet delightfully chewy texture! They are delicious when eaten warm, and even chewier when cooled. You can enjoy them with a pinch of salt or a drizzle of soy sauce, according to your preference.
