Main Ingredients- Oyster mushrooms, 40g
- Carrot, 2 thin slices (approx. 20g)
- Garlic, 2 cloves
- Onion, 1/8 medium (approx. 25g)
- Cooking oil, a little (1/2 Tbsp)
Seasoning- Oyster sauce, 0.7 Tbsp (approx. 10ml)
- Black pepper, a pinch
- Sesame oil, 0.5 Tbsp (approx. 7ml)
- Oyster sauce, 0.7 Tbsp (approx. 10ml)
- Black pepper, a pinch
- Sesame oil, 0.5 Tbsp (approx. 7ml)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, gently rinse the oyster mushrooms under running water, drain them well, and tear them into bite-sized pieces. If any pieces are particularly long, tear them in half for better manageability.
Step 2
Next, thinly slice the garlic. Wash the onion and carrot, then julienne them into thin strips. When julienning, you can adjust the thickness to your preference, but try to keep them around the same size so they cook evenly.
Step 3
Heat a lightly oiled pan over high heat. Add the sliced garlic, julienned onion, and carrot. Stir-fry quickly until fragrant. Once the vegetables start to look slightly translucent, add the prepared oyster mushrooms and stir-fry them together. Be careful not to overcook the mushrooms, as they can release a lot of water; aim to cook them just until they soften slightly.
Step 4
When the mushrooms are partially cooked, add 0.7 Tbsp of oyster sauce around the edges of the pan. Stir-fry everything together once more to ensure the sauce evenly coats the vegetables and mushrooms. Oyster sauce adds a wonderful savory depth and enhances the mushroom’s flavor.
Step 5
Check if the mushrooms are tender. Immediately turn off the heat. Finally, sprinkle with a pinch of black pepper and drizzle with 0.5 Tbsp of sesame oil. Toss everything together using the residual heat in the pan until well combined. Adding sesame oil and pepper after turning off the heat preserves their aroma and flavor.
