Cheesy Curry Rice Crust: A Deliciously Simple Snack
Easy & Flavorful Snack: Cheesy Curry Rice Crust (Snack)
This is a simple snack I used to make when I was in high school and felt a bit peckish. If you love curry, cheese, and crispy rice crust, you’ll adore this combination! (Since I don’t have my own photos, I’ve used some circulating images. I hope you’ll share your beautiful finished creations!)
Main Ingredients- 1 serving of instant rice (Hetbahn)
- 1 slice of cheese
Seasoning & Spices- Pinch of black pepper
- 1 Tbsp curry powder
- Pinch of black pepper
- 1 Tbsp curry powder
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Generously add cooking oil to a frying pan, enough to fry the rice crust. It’s best to maintain a medium heat so the oil isn’t too hot.
Step 2
Microwave one serving of instant rice for about 1 minute and 30 seconds until slightly softened. This makes it easier to spread thinly in the pan. Pour the warmed rice into the pan and use the back of a spoon to spread it out thinly and evenly. Spreading it without any gaps is key to achieving a crispy rice crust.
Step 3
Once the rice is settled in the pan, lightly sprinkle black pepper on both sides according to your preference. The mild spiciness of the pepper will enhance the flavors of the curry and cheese.
Step 4
Measure out 1 tablespoon of curry powder and sprinkle it evenly across both sides of the rice crust, dividing it in half. It’s important to spread the curry powder gently so it doesn’t clump. Once the curry powder is applied, cook on both sides until golden brown. Be careful not to burn it by cooking over medium heat, flipping it occasionally to enhance the curry aroma.
Step 5
Finally, place one slice of cheese attractively on top of the golden-brown curry rice crust. As the cheese melts, it will meld with the rice crust to create a fantastic flavor. Once the cheese is melted, turn off the heat and enjoy immediately while it’s warm.
