Main Ingredients- Fresh Bean Sprouts: 100g
Seasoning Ingredients- Sugar: 1/2 Tbsp
- Curry Powder: 1/2 Tbsp (adjust to taste)
- Salt: a pinch
- Red Pepper Flakes (Gochugaru): 1 Tbsp (optional, for heat)
- Sesame Oil: 1 Tbsp
- Sugar: 1/2 Tbsp
- Curry Powder: 1/2 Tbsp (adjust to taste)
- Salt: a pinch
- Red Pepper Flakes (Gochugaru): 1 Tbsp (optional, for heat)
- Sesame Oil: 1 Tbsp
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the fresh bean sprouts thoroughly under running water and drain well. It’s important to wash them carefully to remove any undesirable odors.
Step 2
Heat a pan over medium heat. Add the bean sprouts and about 2-3 tablespoons of water. Cover the pan and let them cook for about 3-4 minutes, or until the bean sprouts are tender yet still crisp. Gently stir with chopsticks occasionally to ensure even cooking.
Step 3
Once the bean sprouts have softened slightly, remove the lid. Add the sugar (1/2 Tbsp), curry powder (1/2 Tbsp), and a pinch of salt. Stir-fry quickly with the bean sprouts, ensuring the seasonings are evenly distributed. This step is key for flavor infusion.
Step 4
When most of the liquid has evaporated, add 1 tablespoon of olive oil (or cooking oil) to the pan and continue to stir-fry. Next, add 1 tablespoon of red pepper flakes (gochugaru) and stir-fry over high heat for about 1 minute. Be careful not to burn them; you want the bean sprouts to be coated in a vibrant color.
Step 5
Turn off the heat. Drizzle in 1 tablespoon of sesame oil. The nutty aroma of sesame oil will add a wonderful depth of flavor to the dish. Give it a final gentle mix to combine everything. Your delicious curry-flavored bean sprouts stir-fry is now ready to enjoy!
