Ingredients- 700g Fresh Sea Green Laver (Mul-Kim)
- 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
- 2 Tbsp Soy Sauce (Yangjo Ganjang)
- 2 Tbsp Soup Soy Sauce (Guk Ganjang)
- 2 Tbsp Sugar
- 2 Tbsp Plum Extract (Maesil Extract)
- 4 Tbsp Vinegar
- 1 tsp Minced Ginger
- 1 Tbsp Red Pepper Flakes (Gochugaru)
- 1 L Anchovy Broth or Kelp Broth (for natural seasoning)
- 2 Korean Green Chilies (Cheongyang chili), deseeded and finely chopped
- 2 Scallions, finely chopped
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Rinse the fresh sea green laver thoroughly in cold water 4-5 times. Ensure all sand and impurities are removed for a clean taste.
Step 2
In a large bowl, combine the 1L of broth (anchovy or kelp) with all the seasoning ingredients: 1 Tbsp minced garlic, 2 Tbsp soy sauce, 2 Tbsp soup soy sauce, 2 Tbsp sugar, 2 Tbsp plum extract, 4 Tbsp vinegar, 1 tsp minced ginger, and 1 Tbsp red pepper flakes. Taste and adjust the seasonings to your preference. If you like it spicier, add more green chilies or red pepper flakes. For a tangier taste, add more vinegar. The blend of soy sauces, sugar, and plum extract creates a balanced flavor.
Step 3
Add the drained sea green laver to the seasoned broth. Gently mix everything together. You’ll immediately notice the fresh, oceanic aroma of the seaweed. The scent will fill your kitchen as you stir!
