Main Ingredients

  • Seaweed cluster, about the size of a child’s fist (20-30g), washed and thoroughly squeezed dry
  • Ground pork, 300g
  • Green bell pepper, a little (finely minced)
  • Red bell pepper, a little (finely minced)
  • Carrot, a little (finely minced)
  • Firm tofu, 1 block (drained and squeezed dry)
  • Eggs, 3
  • Pancake mix (buchim garu), 4 heaping tablespoons

Seasoning & Other Ingredients

  • Salt, 1 teaspoon
  • Black pepper powder, a pinch
  • Minced garlic, 1 tablespoon
  • Sunflower oil, 6-7 tablespoons (for pan-frying)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

In a large bowl, place the 300g of ground pork. Take the 1 block of firm tofu, place it in a sieve, and press out as much water as possible with your hands. Crumble the drained tofu and add it to the bowl with the ground pork.

Step 1

Step 2

Wash the seaweed cluster thoroughly, squeeze out all excess water, and then finely mince it. Next, finely mince the green bell pepper, red bell pepper, and carrot. Add all these finely minced vegetables to the bowl containing the pork and tofu.

Step 2

Step 3

Now it’s time to add the seasonings. Add 1 tablespoon of minced garlic, 4 heaping tablespoons of pancake mix, 1 teaspoon of salt, a pinch of black pepper powder, and crack in the 3 eggs. Put on a pair of disposable gloves and knead the mixture thoroughly until it becomes well combined and slightly sticky, indicating a good texture for the patties. Knead for about 5 minutes.

Step 3

Step 4

Check the consistency of the mixture. If it feels too wet, add another 1-2 tablespoons of pancake mix to thicken it. Conversely, if it seems too dry or stiff, gradually add a little water until you achieve a workable consistency. The mixture should hold its shape when scooped with a spoon.

Step 4

Step 5

Heat a frying pan over medium-low heat and add a generous amount of sunflower oil. Using a spoon, scoop portions of the mixture and place them onto the hot pan. Gently press down on each portion with the back of the spoon to form flat, round patties.

Step 5

Step 6

Fry the patties for about 3-4 minutes per side, until they turn a nice golden brown. Carefully flip them using a spatula. Gently pressing down with the spatula once flipped can help prevent them from breaking apart and ensure even cooking. Once both sides are beautifully browned and cooked through, they are ready to serve. Enjoy them while warm!
