Main Ingredients- 103g Unsalted Butter
- 3 Tbsp Granulated Sugar
- 1 Tbsp Corn Syrup (or Honey)
- 1 Slice Thick-Cut Bread
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Begin by preparing your ingredients for the Honey Toast. You’ll need 103g of unsalted butter, softened at room temperature, and one slice of thick-cut bread. Using a thicker slice of bread will result in a better texture after baking.
Step 2
Place the softened butter into a bowl. Microwave it for approximately 5 seconds, just enough to slightly soften it. The goal is not to fully melt the butter, but to make it pliable.
Step 3
Add 3 tablespoons of granulated sugar to the gently warmed butter. Stir them together well.
Step 4
Next, incorporate 1 tablespoon of corn syrup (or honey). This will add a beautiful sheen and a subtle sweetness to the toast.
Step 5
Using a spoon or a small whisk, vigorously mix the butter, sugar, and corn syrup until well combined. Continue stirring until you achieve a smooth, creamy consistency with no lumps of butter.
Step 6
Generously spread the prepared butter mixture evenly over all four sides of the bread slice. Ensure every surface is coated for a delicious Honey Toast experience with every bite.
Step 7
Place the buttered bread slice onto a baking sheet and transfer it into a preheated oven.
Step 8
Initially, bake the toast in a preheated oven at 180°C (350°F) for 10 minutes. This will start to toast one side of the bread to a lovely golden hue.
Step 9
After 10 minutes, carefully remove the toast from the oven and gently flip it over. It’s now time to toast the other side.
Step 10
Return the flipped toast to the oven and bake at 180°C (350°F) for an additional 8 minutes. Continue baking until the surface is wonderfully crisp and a tempting golden-brown color.
Step 11
Voilà! Your delicious Honey Toast is ready. Enjoy it immediately while it’s warm for the perfect contrast of a crispy exterior and a soft, buttery interior!
