Easy Soba Noodles

Convenience foods are abundant in supermarkets these days, but I tend to buy only those that suit my taste. Noodle dishes, in particular, are usually to my liking, so they save me a lot of effort! I especially love cold noodle dishes on hot days, and Soba noodles are one of my favorites. I used to think I had to eat them at a restaurant, but now, the store-bought dipping sauce is often tastier than homemade ones, making it so convenient to just prepare them at home! All it takes is about the same time to boil ramen, and you can have a refreshing and delicious plate of Zaru Soba ready in no time! Enjoy this simple and easy convenience meal. Have a happy day! ♡

  • Servings : 1 serving
  • Cooking Time : Within 10 minutes

Main Ingredients

  • Soba noodles, 1 serving
  • Tsuyu (soba dipping sauce), 1 packet
  • Daikon radish, a small amount

Toppings

  • Sprouts (e.g., kaiware daikon), a small amount
  • Shredded seaweed (kizami nori)
  • Wasabi
  • Scallions

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Bring a generous amount of water to a boil in a large pot for cooking the soba noodles. While the water is heating, prepare the other ingredients.

Step 2

Wash and peel the daikon radish, then grate it finely using a grater. Set aside the grated radish. It’s even better if you lightly drain the excess water from the grated radish using a sieve.

Step 3

Wash the scallions thoroughly, pat them dry, and finely chop them. Finely minced scallions will add a nice aroma.

Step 4

Gently rinse the sprouts under running water and drain them. Prepare the shredded seaweed and have the wasabi ready to be served according to your preference.

Step 5

Once the water is boiling vigorously, add the soba noodles and cook them according to the package instructions. Immediately rinse the cooked noodles under cold running water to make them firm and chewy. Drain them thoroughly in a colander.

Step 6

Arrange the prepared soba noodles neatly on a soba platter or a large serving plate.

Step 7

Serve the dish with the tsuyu dipping sauce, grated daikon radish, chopped scallions, sprouts, shredded seaweed, and wasabi. Adjust the seasoning to your taste and enjoy!
