Main Ingredients

  • 2 handfuls of pre-boiled dried radish greens (approx. 200g)
  • 1/2 medium onion
  • 1/2 stalk green onion (white part mainly)

Seasoning Ingredients

  • 1 tsp soy sauce (guk-ganjang or jin-ganjang)
  • 1 tsp minced garlic
  • 2 tsp sesame oil
  • 1 tsp salt (adjust to taste)
  • 2 tsp perilla powder (for enhanced flavor!)
  • A pinch of toasted sesame seeds (for garnish)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, prepare your pre-boiled dried radish greens. You can use store-bought ones or ones you’ve boiled yourself.

Step 1

Step 2

If your dried radish greens have been soaked in cold water, rinse them thoroughly one more time and gently squeeze out excess water. Two handfuls should be sufficient.

Step 2

Step 3

Thinly slice the onion. Finely chop the green onion, focusing on the white parts. These will add aromatic sweetness.

Step 3

Step 4

Now, cut the dried radish greens into bite-sized pieces. If they are too long, they can be difficult to eat. Aim for pieces about 3-5 cm in length.

Step 4

Step 5

In a bowl, combine the chopped dried radish greens, sliced onion, and chopped green onion. Prepare the seasoning ingredients: 1 tsp soy sauce, 1 tsp minced garlic, 1 tsp salt, and 2 tsp perilla powder.

Step 5

Step 6

Heat 1 tsp of olive oil (or cooking oil) in a pan over medium heat. Add the sliced onion and chopped green onion, and sauté until fragrant and the onions become translucent.

Step 6

Step 7

Now, add the dried radish greens and the prepared seasoning ingredients (soy sauce, minced garlic, salt) to the pan and stir-fry together.

Step 7

Step 8

Increase the heat to high and stir-fry quickly for about 1-2 minutes, ensuring the ingredients are well combined and coated with seasoning. Then, reduce the heat to low and add 2 tsp of sesame oil for extra flavor.

Step 8

Step 9

Once the ingredients are cooked and the seasoning has penetrated, turn off the heat.

Step 9

Step 10

Finally, add the 2 tsp of perilla powder. Using the residual heat from the pan, gently toss and mix the ingredients as if you are kneading them. This helps the radish greens stay intact and absorb the flavors well.

Step 10

Step 11

Transfer the seasoned dried radish greens to a serving dish. Lightly crush toasted sesame seeds between your palms and sprinkle them over the top for garnish. Enjoy your delicious and healthy seasoned dried radish greens!
