Tender spinach is gently mixed with minced garlic and salt, creating a flavorful side dish that’s perfect with rice or as a fresh green wrap.
Main Ingredients- 1 bunch Spinach
Seasoning Ingredients- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Minced Garlic
- 0.5 Tbsp Tuna Extract (or fish sauce)
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 0.5 tsp Anchovy Sauce (or fish sauce)
- 0.5 tsp Salt
- 0.5 tsp Minced Garlic
- 0.5 Tbsp Tuna Extract (or fish sauce)
- 1 Tbsp Toasted Sesame Seeds
- 1 Tbsp Sesame Oil
- 0.5 tsp Anchovy Sauce (or fish sauce)
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Carefully trim the spinach, removing any wilted leaves or tough roots. Bring a pot of water to a boil, add a pinch of salt, and briefly blanch the spinach for about 30 seconds to 1 minute. Be careful not to overcook it, as you want it to retain a slight crispness.
Step 2
Immediately rinse the blanched spinach under cold water to stop the cooking process. Drain it thoroughly in a colander, pressing gently to remove excess water. In a mixing bowl, combine the drained spinach with the salt, minced garlic, tuna extract, and anchovy sauce. Gently toss and mix the ingredients with your hands until everything is well combined. Avoid squeezing too hard, which can make the spinach mushy.
Step 3
Finally, drizzle in the sesame oil and sprinkle with toasted sesame seeds for an aromatic finish. Give it one last gentle mix. Your delicious and fragrant seasoned spinach is now ready to serve. Enjoy immediately or chill for later.
