Braising Sauce

  • 3 tsp crab soy sauce (can substitute with low-sodium soy sauce)
  • 1 Tbsp agave syrup (can substitute with corn syrup or honey)
  • 1 tsp dried shiitake mushroom powder (adds umami)
  • 100ml water
  • A pinch of sesame seeds (for garnish)
  • 1 tsp anchovy sauce (optional, or substitute with Korean soup soy sauce)

Cooking Instructions

First, prepare all ingredients by dicing them into bite-sized cubes. Thoroughly wash or peel the potatoes and pumpkin. Dice the ham into pieces suitable for your child. Cutting all ingredients to a similar size will ensure they cook evenly.

Now, let’s make the braising sauce. In a pot or deep pan, combine 3 tsp of crab soy sauce, 1 Tbsp of agave syrup, 1 tsp of shiitake mushroom powder, 100ml of water, and 1 tsp of anchovy sauce. (We’ll add sesame oil and seeds at the end!) Stir everything together to mix the sauce well.

Check if the potatoes are tender by piercing them with a fork.
