Main Ingredients

  • Sausages (frankfurters or your favorite kind) – adequate amount (approx. 200-300g)
  • 1/2 medium Onion
  • 1/5 Carrot
  • 1/4 Bell Pepper (using different colors makes it more appealing)
  • 1 Tbsp Minced Garlic
  • 3 Tbsp Cooking Oil
  • Sesame Seeds, a pinch (for garnish)
  • Black Pepper, a pinch (optional)

  • 3 Tbsp Soy Sauce (or any cooking soy sauce)
  • 2 Tbsp Sugar
  • 4 Tbsp Ketchup
  • 1 Tbsp Vinegar

1. Slice the sausages into bite-sized pieces, about 1cm thick circles, or cut them in half lengthwise and then into 1cm thick slices. Avoid slicing them too thinly, as they might break apart during stir-frying.

2. Chop the vegetables into similar bite-sized pieces as the sausages. Slice the onion thickly or julienne it. Cut the carrot and bell pepper into slices about 0.5cm thick or julienne them. Using different colored bell peppers will make the dish look more vibrant and appetizing.

3. Let’s make the key to the flavor – the special sauce! In a bowl, combine 3 Tbsp soy sauce, 2 Tbsp sugar, 4 Tbsp ketchup, and 1 Tbsp vinegar. Mix well until the sugar is dissolved. The ketchup adds a delightful sweet and tangy kick.

If the heat is too high, the vegetables might release too much moisture, making the dish watery. The moisture released from the vegetables will mix with the sauce, creating a delicious glaze.
