Main Ingredients

  • 1 pack Oyster Mushrooms (approx. 200-250g)
  • 2 cloves Garlic, thinly sliced or minced
  • A little Cooking Oil

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

Rinse the oyster mushrooms thoroughly under running water. Trim the tough bottom part, then tear or pull them into bite-sized pieces by hand. Avoid cutting them too small, as they can break apart during cooking.

Step 1

Step 2

Thinly slice or mince the 2 cloves of garlic. Heat a pan over medium heat with a generous amount of cooking oil. Add the garlic and sauté gently until fragrant, being careful not to burn it. (Using minced garlic will release its aroma faster.)

Step 2

Step 3

Once the garlic is fragrant, add the prepared oyster mushrooms to the pan. Pour in 1 tablespoon of cooking wine to eliminate any mushroomy odor and enhance the flavor. Stir-fry quickly over high heat until the mushrooms start to wilt.

Step 3

Step 4

When the mushrooms have softened, add 1 tablespoon of soy sauce and a pinch of salt, and stir-fry to combine well. Since soy sauce is already salty, add only a small amount of salt initially and adjust to your preference. Continue stir-frying over high heat until the mushrooms are fully cooked and have a chewy texture. If there’s too much liquid, let it evaporate quickly over high heat.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the mushrooms are cooked to your liking, turn off the heat and sprinkle with black pepper to taste. Drizzle in 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil and stir gently using the residual heat to add a nutty aroma.

Step 5

Step 6

Finally, sprinkle with sesame seeds and give it a light toss to finish. This dish is delicious served warm immediately after cooking, or it can be cooled and enjoyed as a packed lunch or side dish. Enjoy your flavorful and chewy oyster mushroom stir-fry!
