Ingredients- 2 packs Acorn Jjoljjol Myeon noodles
- 30g Dried Acorn Jelly (Mukmalrangi)
- 1/2 cucumber
- 30g shredded cabbage
- 3 perilla leaves
- A little bit of lettuce
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare two packages of Acorn Jjoljjol Myeon noodles. Maintaining the chewy texture of the noodles is key.
Step 2
Prepare the fresh vegetables. Thinly slice the 3 perilla leaves. Remove the seeds from the 1/2 cucumber and slice it thinly. Shred about 30g of cabbage.
Step 3
Soak the dried acorn jelly (mukmalrangi) in warm water for 4 hours until fully rehydrated. Once softened, cut the acorn jelly into halves or bite-sized pieces. Bring a generous amount of water to a rolling boil for cooking the noodles. Before adding the noodles, gently blanch the rehydrated acorn jelly in the boiling water for just 3-5 seconds. Be careful not to overcook, as it can become mushy. Immediately rinse the blanched acorn jelly under cold water and drain thoroughly.
Step 4
In the same boiling water used for the acorn jelly, add the Acorn Jjoljjol Myeon noodles and the vegetable flakes. Cook according to the package instructions, typically for about 4 minutes and 30 seconds. After cooking, rinse the noodles thoroughly under cold running water. Draining them completely is essential for achieving that signature chewy texture.
Step 5
Arrange the drained Jjoljjol Myeon noodles in a serving bowl. Artfully place the prepared dried acorn jelly, sliced cucumber, shredded cabbage, perilla leaves, and lettuce on top. The vibrant colors of the vegetables will make the dish visually appealing.
Step 6
Now, it’s time to add the special bibim sauce that comes with the Acorn Jjoljjol Myeon. Pour the sauce generously over the noodles and vegetables, ensuring everything is well-coated.
