Main Ingredients

  • 1/2 Apple (cored and thinly sliced to about 2mm thickness)
  • 2 Eggs (lightly beaten to make egg wash)
  • 1 Tortilla (approx. 20cm in diameter)
  • 1 Tbsp Olive oil (for cooking)

Sauce

  • 2 Tbsp Tomato sauce
  • 2 Tbsp Sriracha sauce (adjust spiciness to your preference)

Toppings

  • 120g Pizza cheese (mozzarella recommended)
  • 1/2 Tbsp Dried parsley (for garnish)

Cooking Instructions

Step 1

First, wash the apple, remove the core, and thinly slice it into approximately 2mm thick pieces. Slicing them thinly will ensure they become tender and absorb flavors beautifully when cooked.

Step 1

Step 2

In a bowl, crack the 2 eggs and beat them lightly with a fork or whisk to create an egg wash. Removing the chalazae (the white stringy bits) will result in a smoother texture.

Step 2

Step 3

Heat 1 tablespoon of olive oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Add the sliced apples and sauté for about 1 minute, just until they begin to soften slightly. The key is to cook them just enough to soften them a bit.

Step 3

Step 4

Pour the prepared egg wash evenly over the cooked apples. Continue to cook for about 1 more minute, allowing the egg to set to a semi-cooked state.

Step 4

Step 5

Once the egg is partially set, carefully place the tortilla on top. Gently press down to ensure the tortilla adheres well to the base.

Step 5

Step 6

Now, using a spatula or a large plate, carefully flip the pizza over. The cooked egg should help hold the tortilla in place.

Step 6

Step 7

On the flipped side of the tortilla, spread 2 tablespoons of tomato sauce and 2 tablespoons of sriracha sauce evenly using a spoon. Feel free to add more sriracha if you prefer it spicier.

Step 7

Step 8

Generously sprinkle 120g of pizza cheese (mozzarella is highly recommended for its excellent melting quality) over the sauce to add a rich, cheesy flavor.

Step 8

Step 9

Finally, sprinkle 1/2 tablespoon of dried parsley over the cheese for a beautiful garnish that makes the pizza look even more appealing.

Step 9

Step 10

Cover the pan with a lid and cook over low heat for 3 to 5 minutes, or until the cheese is completely melted and gooey. Be mindful of the heat to prevent the cheese from burning.

Step 10

Step 11

Once the cheese has melted perfectly, carefully cut the pizza into your desired serving pieces.

Step 11

Step 12

Serve immediately while warm for the best experience! You’ll be delighted by the harmonious blend of the apple’s sweet freshness, the egg’s delicate texture, the sriracha’s subtle heat, and the savory, melted cheese. Personally, I found this version much tastier and cleaner than adding onions. Give it a try!
