Ingredients- Baekse Curry Blocks 4 pieces (for 4 servings)
- Pork for Curry 250g (can substitute with beef or chicken)
- 1 Onion (medium size)
- 6 Potatoes (small size)
- 1 Carrot (medium size)
- 450ml Water (approx. 1 and 4/5 cups)
- 200ml Milk (approx. 1 cup)
- 1 swirl Cooking Oil (approx. 1-2 Tbsp)
- A pinch of Black Pepper
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare 4 blocks of Baekse Curry, which will form the base of your delicious curry. (This is for approximately 4 servings.)
Step 2
Prepare your fresh vegetables. I’ve chosen 6 small potatoes, 1 medium carrot, and 1 medium onion. Feel free to use any vegetables you have on hand or prefer! You can adapt this recipe based on what’s in your refrigerator.
Step 3
Dice all the prepared vegetables into roughly uniform, bite-sized cubes (about 1.5-2 cm). Cutting them too small can cause them to break down too much, while cutting them too large will increase cooking time. Also, prepare 250g of pork, cut into suitable pieces for curry.
Step 4
Heat a tablespoon or two of cooking oil in a large pan or pot over medium heat. Add the pork and stir-fry until it’s about halfway cooked. You’ll know it’s ready when the surface turns opaque.
Step 5
Once the pork is half-cooked, add all the diced vegetables to the pan. Sprinkle a pinch of black pepper over everything. Stir-fry for about 3-4 minutes, allowing the vegetables to soften slightly and the flavors to meld with the pork.
Step 6
After stir-frying the pork and vegetables, pour in 450ml of water. Turn the heat up to high and bring the mixture to a boil.
Step 7
As soon as the water starts boiling, reduce the heat to medium. Add the 4 blocks of curry. Use a spatula or spoon to gently dissolve the curry blocks into the simmering liquid, stirring continuously until fully incorporated.
Step 8
Once the curry has dissolved and the sauce has begun to thicken, pour in 200ml of milk. The milk will make the curry wonderfully creamy and add a subtle, rich flavor.
Step 9
Continue to simmer over medium-low heat, stirring occasionally to prevent sticking, until the vegetables are tender and the curry has reached your desired thickness. Adjust the heat as needed to maintain a gentle simmer.
Step 10
Your wonderfully creamy and flavorful milk curry is ready! Serve it generously over a bowl of hot rice. Enjoy your delicious homemade curry! 🙂
