Main Ingredients- 6 dried persimmons
- 2 walnuts
Seasoning Ingredients- 1 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1/3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp honey
- 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
- A pinch of toasted sesame seeds
- 1 Tbsp gochujang (Korean chili paste)
- 1/3 Tbsp soy sauce
- 1/2 Tbsp honey
- 1/2 Tbsp sesame oil
- A pinch of toasted sesame seeds
Cooking Instructions
Step 1
Start by preparing 6 dried persimmons. Carefully remove the hard stem from each persimmon using scissors. Next, slice each persimmon in half lengthwise and meticulously remove all the seeds. Ensuring all seeds are removed will prevent any discomfort when you enjoy the dish later.
Step 2
Cut the prepared persimmons into bite-sized pieces. Avoid cutting them too small, as this can diminish the delightful chewy texture of the persimmons. Aim for pieces approximately 2-3 cm in size to best enjoy their texture.
Step 3
Prepare 2 walnuts to add a nutty flavor and pleasant crunch. Finely chop the walnuts using the side or back of a knife. It’s best to chop them so there’s still a slight texture, rather than turning them into a fine powder, for a more enjoyable eating experience.
Step 4
Now, let’s make the delicious sauce. In a medium-sized bowl, combine 1 tablespoon of gochujang, 1/3 tablespoon of soy sauce, 1/2 tablespoon of honey for sweetness, and 1/2 tablespoon of sesame oil for a nutty aroma. Whisk all the ingredients together until smooth and well combined, ensuring there are no lumps.
Step 5
Gently add the cut persimmons to the prepared sauce and mix carefully. Be mindful not to mash the persimmons as you coat them evenly with the sauce. Once the persimmons are well coated, sprinkle the finely chopped walnuts on top for a beautiful finish. This delicious persimmon salad is now ready to be enjoyed as a special treat or a unique addition to your everyday meals!
