Main Ingredients- 1 block (approx. 300g) Tofu
- 5 Perilla leaves
Perilla Leaf Sauce- 2 Tbsp Soy sauce
- 6 Tbsp Water
- 1/2 Tbsp Red pepper flakes (Gochugaru)
- A tiny bit of minced garlic (adjust to taste)

Cooking Instructions
Step 1
First, prepare the tofu and perilla leaves. Lightly pat the tofu dry to remove excess moisture. Wash the perilla leaves thoroughly, pat them completely dry, and then thinly slice them.
Step 2
Slice the prepared tofu into bite-sized pieces. To prevent them from breaking apart easily, aim for slices about 1.5 to 2 cm thick.
Step 3
Thinly julienne the washed and dried perilla leaves. This helps them distribute evenly in the sauce and adds a wonderful aroma.

Heat a generous amount of cooking oil in a pan over medium-low heat. Place the tofu slices and pan-fry them until golden brown and crispy on both sides. Cooking them slowly to achieve a nice crisp exterior is key.

While the tofu is frying, let’s make the delicious perilla leaf sauce. In a bowl, combine 2 tablespoons of soy sauce, 6 tablespoons of water, 1/2 tablespoon of red pepper flakes, and just a tiny bit of minced garlic (adjust the garlic amount to your preference).

Arrange the nicely browned tofu on a plate. Generously spoon the fragrant perilla leaf sauce over the top of the tofu. The aroma of perilla will wonderfully complement the savory tofu.
